Happy is how you win this game.

It's the only reason you're here.

IT's why every human being wants it.

So... that's why you want to want, what you don't think you want, so you can win the game of life and be happy for the rest of it.

Why are we here playing this game?

Who knows? 

All I know is when you're happy, nothing else matters, you don't care about circumstances, life is good. And when life is good, more good comes.

You don't care what job you have when your'e happy (LAX experience)

When you're happy, you win, and you can allow in everything you will allow right now.

Everyone wants to be happy.

So life is an emotional game (hence Abe's comment that happiness is winning the game)

What's the purpose of any game?

To have fun and be happy playing it.

Point I'm wanting to drive home is what if the only purpose of life is to be happy with exactly how it is. What if that is the purpose? If this is the purpose, resisting it makes no sense.

What if only purpose of this life is to figure out how to be happy with what is?

Stop Resisting Core Lesson

The purpose of life is to have fun, so the purpose of life is to be happy, so the purpose of life then IS TO LEARN TO NOT RESIST. THAT IS THE PURPOSE. That's the only reason you are here "stop resisting, stop resisting, it's the only reason you are here is to learn to stop resisting." STOP RESISTING. That's the core lesson of this section.

Example 

Go get 10 Powerball Advanced play tickets for a total of $20.  For the next month and a half, twice a week, you could wake up having won a minimum of $20 million.  If you really feel into this, that feeling of nonresistance that most people experience towards life when they know they could be worth a minimum of $20 million shows you #1 what true nonresistance feels like and #2 it shows you that nonresistance is a choice you can make.  It's easier when you have an external like the hope of the lottery, but it can be done without it, you simply have to stop resisting THE LIFE YOU CREATED.

Eternal being

Thinking like an eternal being is important for loving actual life because can't get it wrong, can't get it done, don't have to be miffed about any one thing. Important! So include this!

Pros of Every Age

Every negative has an equal or greater positive.  Every age has positives and negatives.  Let go of the positives of the past.  Find the positives of this age.  Focus solely on it and that will align me with the best this age has to offer and makes it so much easier to love actual life right now.  Maybe even map out the pros of every age on a chart.

Now That I'm Soley In This Reality...
My job is to identify all the areas of life I'm resisting and knock them out and then let this reality dazzle me.

I can actully knock out the resistance now because I don't have an out, I'm 100% sold on playing this game.  And since I don't have any out anymore, now I'm in this reality 100%, I'm 100% committed vs 99% or less and just like the old saying goes, "100% commitment is easy, 99% or anything else is brutal)

See if I can work in a couple of lines of a good personal story to make me real and then deliver the answer.  Facts tell STORIES SELL!  Explain the realization that I control the timing of everything, so if I can't love my life right now, I never will. Realized I was living for the next manifestation, the next mindbending experience, and it never worked.  Same realization Jim Carry had when he said... and then explain....

Honestly, it's simple.

 

It's something that anyone can learn how to do, no matter where they're starting from.

To make what I'm about to say clear, lets start by establishing some basic facts about life.

What is the root cause of all happiness?

Happiness comes from getting what you want.

Don't just take my word on this.

Pause for a second and think about it.

Does getting what you want make you feel happy? Yes or no?

If your mind starts coming up with "what about this" scenarios, you're overthinking this simple truth.

Next up, what is the root cause of all unhappiness?

Not getting what you want.

Nobody likes not getting what they want.

On a quick side note, an interesting fact I learned years ago—one that helped me break 18 years of cycling depression—is that all long-term depression is the result of not getting what you want. (See the Articles section for more details on this truth.)


Back to the point: now that we’ve established the simple truth that when you get what you want, you’re happy, and when you don’t, you’re unhappy, what I say next will be equally obvious and clear.

How do you love your life exactly as it is right now?

Want it exactly as it is right now.

That's it.

That's all there is to it.

It's truly that simple.

Now, there’s steps I’ll take you through so you can do this, and there are techniques you’ll need to learn, but none of that changes the simple truth: to love your life exactly as it is, you just need to want your life exactly as it is.

Step 2. What would it authentically take for you to love your life?

8A-If your thoughts can turn into one thing, your thoughts are creating everything. Some things can't be created by your thoughts and other things not, because then your ability to have your desires manifest would be limited and you would NOT be creating your own reality. 
 

8B-Everything means everything (the entire universe that you hear about, this galaxy with all its stars and planets including earth, all the people, animals, plants, insects).
 

8C-If getting your thoughts, feelings, words and actions into alignment caused a result now, it was like this before, which means you chose to be born, you chose your family, you chose body, you chose your life path you're on and how it's unfolding including the problems/challenges (i.e. growth opportunities) that are showing up in your life.
 

8D-When you get into alignment, and a desire manifests, all you did was get your thoughts, feelings, words and actions matched up about your desire to have some cake.  You did not go to grocery store shopping, mixing up ingredients, and baking it" so there has to be a part of you, that you can't see, that is doing all of that.
 

8E-You can call this other part of you whatever you want (eternal-self, higher-self, inner-being etc.).  However, for clarity purposes, I'd encourage you to choose a part a term that incorporates "self" so that you never forget this is you doing this. (Need to explain emotional scale and that is just a match between where you are and how your inner self is viewing things and bring in exercises at this point).

8F-Now that you know that you have another part of you that you can't see that is taking your aligned thoughts and turning them into things, you can come to some other conclusions based on what you know.  In a thought created reality all is thought so the second you have a thought about what you want, this other part of you acutally creates it.  You can assume this because when you think of an apple, you can immediately see an apple in your mind's eye.  If it's that easy for you, it has to be that easy for this other part of you.  Thus the second you have a desire, this other part of you creates it, sees all the paths to it and it's complete.  All that is waiting for you is your alignment.  Again this is only possible because you're living in a thought created reality or a dream.

Step 9. Now let's further explore the implications of point 8C. Remember the secret to loving your life is wanting it, as is, right now.  A big day for me was realizing that I wasn't forced into this life, with my parents, the situation I grew up in etc.  If my aligned thoughts cause results now, then they have to have always caused results.  Thus, I'm the one that had to have chosen all of my life circumstances.  Knowing that I was the one that chose to have this human experience, a lot of resentment and bitterness dropped away.  I chose this.  That changes things.  If I chose this, I had to have wanted this life.  And if I chose this, just like any other trip I've ever taken, I had to know that there would be stuff I liked, and some stuff I didn't, but either way I wanted to take the trip.  All of this made it a lot easier for me to want my life because I realized I'm the one that chose it to begin with.  Additionally, if my inner-self (I call that part of me Creator-ME) is creating everything I ask for, then it's also creating the current life challenges/problems I'm experiencing.  Again this changed my perspectives on things.  If I'm creating all of this, I'm creating the challenges too.  And when I thought about it, I realized that in some way, every negative challenge I'd ever encountered came with an equal or greater positive IF I looked for it.  Run an exercise that has them see this as a truth (including Jeannette's point about how ever massive negative has given birth to every big amazing thing in our lives now).

Step 10. Okay, so we're on our path to wanting your life.  You've realized you chose this life, you chose this path, you chose the challenges (and every challenge comes with an equal or greater positive).  This does not change that you have things in your life that you'd rather do without, but it does give you a shift in perspective.  Now you can ask yourself, "How might this thing I really don't want be an equal or greater positive?"

Step 11. 90 Day Unblocking Your Dream Life Test
You can have anything you want right now, if you will drop any blocks you have to it. I'm not asking you to take my word on this.  Refer back to the tests.  You're the only one here.  Everything is between you and you.  The only one stopping you from having anything is you.  So to have that dream life of yours right now, all you have to do is drop your blocks to it.  You do this by reading the guaranteed results section.  Learning to use the checklist.  And then running a 90 days test.  

Step 12. Analyzing The Results Of Your 90 Day Unblocking Test
If you had some desires manifest, great!
If you didn't, that's great too!
What you now know is that you don't want those things that you think you want. You want something else, otherwise you'd have aligned and allowed them to manifest.  So what are they? What do you want more than the things that you think you want?  Acknowledging and understanding this goes a long ways to being able to want your life exactly as it is right now.

 

Step 0. Work in trusting life based on this as that's the last real piece and will make a massive difference (a part is trusting in intution but I want more, evidence based stuff so I can relax about the timing and socialize, date etc)

Step 13. Daily Happiness Comes From Not Making Right Now Wrong & Appreciating The Little Things, As Well As Focusing On The Things That Are Easy To Love About Your Life Right Now.  It Does NOT Come From The Big Desires Manifesting That Will Normalize In Less Than 90 Days
When I accepted that I chose this life, I chose the challenges, and I first wanted things, before I wanted the things I thought I'd wanted, I was on my way to loving my life.  However I wasn't there yet.  I still had to develop the habit of appreciating all the good things in my life right now (which I was previously unaware of) as well as focusing hard on the things that I loved about my life, that dreams of other people I was living right now.

Step 14. Appreciation Texts and I Love My Life Because List
Each morning I do appreication texts and review what I love about my life right now and focus on them.

Step 15. Setting up expectation estimates for how long I felt it would take me to align with my have-to-have desires and reviewing them each morning.

Step 16. The final step for me was figuring out what I needed to do now every day to want my life and know that every day I was getting closer to the dream life that I have-to-have. What I realized I needed to do was be in nonresistance, or ideally in a great mood because then I was able to allow in the best of what was possible for today, and I didn't have to overwork or push myself.

Step 17. The story of the abbot walking up to monks and asking, "Are you happy?" If they said, "yes," he said, "Happy."  If they said, "no" he said "attached" and I will replace this with "resisting."

It's a good story, excellent qustion And instantly lets you know what you need to do IN A SINGLE WORD. And it fits perfectly with happy lesson at beginning!

#2 Why do you want to love your life exactly as it is right now? Because when you want your life exactly as it is right now, you get more things that will cause you to want your life as it is right now.  So simple, but so easy to miss!
   If you’re like, “I don’t want this life” guess what you’re going to get more of?
   Reasons NOT to want this life because that is what your focus is on.
That is the genius of doing the work to love your life, because when you want your life, you get more that make you want your life.
 

#3 Alignment Test
This shows you that your thoughts choose your experience.
If this is happening now, it was happening before.
You chose this body, your family, this life.  
You chose it to begin with, time to rechoose it, this is one of the simple points to how you wanting your life now, and when you choose it, exactly as it is right now, and find things to focus on that are great about right now, you get more experiences that are great.  You don’t have a life problems, you’ve got a focus problem.  
 

#4 Appreciate what you’ve got in your life right now and focus on the things that you love about your life.
When you focus on the things you appreciate and love about your life, you get more of it.  

Those are the three things…

A. Accepting the challenges you have (that you chose), 
B. Accepting the reasons you don’t have the things that you want, 
C. Focusing on the little things and the things that you love about your life right now
AND YOU GET TO LOVE YOUR LIFE, THAT IS ALL THERE IS TO IT!!!
Skip the 1 minute lessons, write this up, done and done!
 

#5 You don’t get what you want, and you’re unhappy, so you don’t want your life (but you’re blocking).

You have challenges that you don’t want, and you’re unhappy so you don’t want your life (but you put the challenges there to get you to grow to be the person you want to get the things you want).

In both situations, YOU CREATED not having + the challenges, so if you accept the truth, and deal with it, those are the only two things you need to do so that you can naturally love your life.
 

#6 You don’t have the things you want, so you don’t love your life, but you control the timing of everything.  If you’re in alignment, it shows up.  If you’re not in alignment, it doesn’t.  If you’re not in alignment, you want something else more.
So this deals with the challenges and the things you want that you don’t have, so what other reasons are there not to love your life?
   Nothing I can see right now???? 
   Anything else?
 

#7 Why do you NOT want your life right now?
   Write it all out.
   Be honest.
   Do NOT hold anything back!!!
   This is your chance!!!
   
   Alignment test.
   What does this test tell you?
   Your thought turn into things.
   If your thoughts turn into things then everything is your thoughts.
   So your thoughts are creating your experience right now.
   Accept this #1
If this is happening now, this was happening before, you chose your life, you chose your challenges.
Want your life.
Want your challenges.
And you get to love your life exactly as it is right now.

Present List

What is has no bearing on what is coming unless you are continually regurgitating the story of what is. By thinking and speaking more of how you really want your life to be, you allow what you are currently living to be the jumping off place for so much more. But if you speak predominantly of what is, then you still jump off, but you jump off into more of the same.

NOTES FROM WALK SIMPLIFYING EVERYTHING 

How do you love your life?

Want it as is.

How do you do that?

In this case, it was realizing I wouldn't allow in a lottery jackpot over $25,000 because I had to have completed I love my life work.  This reminded me that I'm literally blocking billion dollar lottery jackpots, because I want to do my loving life work, so what I have truly, actually, factually is what I want.  And then I remembered the 90 day it's done exercise showed me that I won't allow in the stuff I think I want, so what I have then is actually what I want.  It might not seem like it, but it is the truth.  If I actually wanted something else, I'd let that in.  Since I'm not, what I have right now, truly is what I want (or I'm focused on what I don't want, not realizing it) but I deal with that situation below.

Once I realized my life right now, exactly as it is, is truly what I want, the resistance drops.  This gets me to being at peace about my life, but NOT LOVING IT.  How do I get to loving it?  Look at all the things I can appreciate and ride that onto looking for the things I can LOVE about right now like all the time I have to work on my dreams, living in paradise, money in the bank, a family that loves me, all the stuff that is easy to take for granted if I'm not appreciating.  So funny that once the bad feelings are dropped by realizing I am actually getting what I want, suddenly I can see the things I love about my life, that I couldn't see before because I was focused on what I didn't want so deeply and hurting from it!  It really is THIS SIMPLE.  This is ALL I NEED TO SHARE AND TEACH. KEEP IT THIS SIMPLE!!!  

UPDATE

I control the timing of everything by my readiness.

I don't NEED any desire to be happy.

If my mind is pissed that I don't have "x" yet, or I'm not unblocked yet and it's pissed about that, three problems are occurring...
#1 If I were truly ready, I'd have it (this is ALL me, why would I ever deny myself something that ALL OF ME was truly ready for, I'm the only one who is ever blocking anything I want because I am the only one here), so I'm not ready which means a part of me really does NOT want this thing my mind is demanding.
Example
The day I realized I really did NOT want to win the lottery because that would just get in the way of me finishing my system.  And the problem was that part of me knew this, but the "clamoring part of me" had forgotten and was focusing on not having, which was making me feel bad, and then I realized... wait! I don't even want to win the lottery right now.
#2 If I'm pissed about not being ready, guess where my focus is?  It's NOT on what I want, it's on what I don't want, and that alone maybe the only reason I don't have this thing I feel I have to have to be happy.

#3 Happiness does NOT come from having anything (at least NOT for very long) ongoing, consistent happiness comes from dropping all resistance to right now by wanting right now.  This dropping off resistance allows me to appreciate what I have, focus on what I love about right now, and become a match to ALL-OF-ME's view of right now, which when I do that, I'm happy simply to be alive and having this experience, nothing else is needed, THIS IS TRUE, AUTHENTIC, REEXPERIENCABLE HAPPINESS because it doesn't require anything so IT IS AVAILABLE TO ME DURING EVERY PHASE OF MY JOURNEY, NOT JUST AFTER THE BIG MANIFESTATIONS that are going to normalize anyway and stop "making me happy."
#4 When I compare the present moment "where I do not have this" to another perceived moment when I have something, that ruins this present moment and kills the happiness the BEST IN THE WORLD HAPPINESS that is always available to me right now, if I'm NOT comparing right now to some other moment and in doing so ruining this moment, making it less than the perfect moment that it is.

Conclusion
So if I don't have something, I'm not ready for it.  If I don't push against not being ready, don't compare right now to another moment when I will have it and feel this moment is less, and I want right now exactly as it is, and appreciate and focus on what I love about right now, and match ALL OF ME's view of right now, I can be naturally and authentically happy RIGHT NOW, WITH LIFE EXACTLY AS IT IS and this kind of happiness is the best kind of happiness in the world because it's repeatable by recognizing this info and living it!

426-If I won't let anything else in THEN I HAVE TO WANT THIS.  Because otherwise I'd let something else in.  so I want my life exactly as it is.  Acknowledging this one thing, but wanting your life as it is, realizing this, is NOT LOVING IT.  Loving comes from acknowleding that you want it as is (this knowing has to come from it's done 90 day exercise or seeing that alignment causes results and realizing that your alignment is causing all of this) and asking yourself, "What do I love?" and acknowleding it.  Or a softer place would be, "What do I appreciate about my life?"  And when you want what you have, and you appreciate what you have, you CAN FEEL IT, and then you can see the things that you love, because you couldn't see them otherwise (before).  I love that I have a family that loves me.  I love that I live in paradise.  I love that I have the time to work on my dreams.  And when you appreciate and love what you love, that focus causes more stuff to come into your life that you appreciate and love.  You have been blocking this stuff, because all this time you didn't realize it, but you were focused on what you didn't like your life, and that focus caused you to get more of what you didn't want because that's what you were focused on.  

427-What if the only reason you have what you have is you're focused on what you don't want. So RIGHT NOW, in this moment, you recognize that, and in this moment, you can want your life exactly as it is right now, because now all of a sudden you know what you need to do to have it change (change focus).  Now you choose to want your life.  You choose to start looking for things you love about your life (or at least start with what you appreciate about your life because there has to be at least a few things you can appreciate). By appreciating those things, you can build on them, and get to I love my life.  You can take your first baby steps today and build on that appreciation.  As you start to change your focus you can get to I love my life.  It won't happen over night, but you didn't get here overnight either.  Be patient with yourself, by doing the appreciations, you will be switching your focus continually, and by doing this every damn day, you'll see the results you want.  By getting to the point where you're looking and finding things that you love about your life, you'll have more things coming into your life that make you love your life.

428-There are only two reasons you're getting something you don't want.
You want it and don't know it (hidden resistance or higher self is playing chess)
You're focused & aligned with what you don't want but you don't realize it.  If this is what is going on, your emotional guidance system has been telling you forever that you're focused on what you don't want by the bad feelings you feel whenever you think about this issue.  But you've been focused on what you don't want for so long, you've been feeling bad about this area for so long, because you've wanted something else for so long and not gotten it, that you don't even realize that feeling bad isn't normal about this, so you don't even realize you should feel another way.  This is especially true about life itself.  You just think it's normal NOT to feel good about your life because you've been unhappy with your life for so long.

On other days, you're not going to want to get out of bed, or maybe you do, but you're tired and irritated and you're going to think, "So much for that loving your life bulls#it."  And that's why I'm covering this now so that you know what loving your life actually looks like and what to expect.

Why do you shower every day even when you didn't work out?
Because you know it's important to keep your body clean.

Some days you have to wash off more dirt and sweat than others.  This is just a fact of life.

Some mornings you're going to have to have to direct your focus and remind yourself why you want right now exactly as it is than other mornings.

Step 1. Set Expectations That Make Sense

If you read the Start Here page, you read about the 90 day releasing resistance test I did that caused me to see how it's possible to love life exactly as it is right now.  I'm going to share that test with you in the paragraphs below.  Before I do though, we need to set up expectations that make sense.

I didn't go from cycling depression (that bordered on suicidal for years) to loving my life overnight, or in a month, or a year.  It took years.  The good news is that once I finally got started on this path things continued to get better, and better and better.  If I can do this, you can do this, no matter where you're starting. 

Focus on the 1 - 3 things that are going to get 80% of the results.

Everyone will have the other 20% that's special to them, but the core 1 to 3 should apply to everyone.

KEEP IT SIMPLE!!! Each section needs to make people think, "I can do that!" And "this guy will help me." DO NOT MAKE IT MORE DETAILED THAN THAT.  If they see it and think, "I can do that" and "he'll help me" I win and can give them all the details later.  Remember dumping all those ACN books on Dave. Do NOT DUMP.

For loving life the two are nonresistance, appreciation and I'd make fun the third if I can figure out how to do it. 
What are the others? fun, relax, easy
Fun is an overall principle where as relaxing and easy go hand in and are more actionable items, especially relaxing, things can be challenging but if you're nonresitance, relaxed and appreciatng you're still happy.  Relaxing wins out as the third.

Or maybe nonresistance is simply DO NOT RESIST WHAT IS and relax, and let it be easy (those are the hows to being nonresistant) Appreciation is stand alone, fun is stand alone and mostly nonactionable.

Imagine waking up tomorrow morning and feeling life is perfect, exactly as it is.

Imagine all your problems, worries and concerns are gone.

 

You've felt this way at least once before, so you know it's possible.

Take a moment to really imagine this now.

 

It feels incredible, right?

 

Now, ask yourself:

•    What would need to change for you to feel this way right now?

•    What desires would need to manifest?


•    Off the top of your head, what are the top three things that need        to change or manifest for you to truly love your life exactly as it          is right now?

In January 2024, I asked myself these same questions as part of a resistance-releasing test unlike any I’d done before. I identified my three things and got to work. Ninety days later, as I reviewed the test results, I realized they conclusively showed that we control the timing of everything in our lives.

When I applied this new understanding of timing to my entire life, something clicked. I saw that everything—every challenge, person, and situation—was perfectly orchestrated to help me reach my next step. I’d always liked the idea that “Life isn’t happening to you; it’s happening for you,” but now I had undeniable proof that this was true.

 

When I realized that everything in my life was timed perfectly and that I didn't have to squeeze progress into every possible minute of my day to avoid missing out on the things I wanted, I relaxed.  I developed a fresh set of habits that were a match to this new realization.  And by doing a daily reminder of this realization in the morning plus living the new habits, I've been able to genuinely love my life, exactly as it is, most of the time.  And on the times when this isn't the case, I'm able to find the value in what I'm experiencing and then get back to loving what-is-as-is because I know that I'm one choosing it to be that way.

Before I get into step-by-step process I've assembled for loving what is-as is, I'm going to share some quick details about my own journey from suicidal depression to loving my actual life as it is most days, so you can see why the steps work.  

When I was eight years old, my father gave me a short little pamplet on manifesting that was written for kids.  I read it, followed the simple steps, and to my surprise the desire manifested.  As the years passed, I had lots of great results, but sometimes stuff didn't manifest, so I never took it that seriously.  It certainly never occurred to me I might be able to rely on manifesting for the most important things I wanted in life. 

Starting at 18 years old, I began experiencing periods of brutal depression. I couldn't figure out why so I suffered silently.  At 31, thanks to a manifesting breakthrough, I realized it was possible to experience began experience consistent manifesting results and get anything I wanted.  When I was 37, I learned that all longterm depression/unhappines was due to the inability to get the things a person wanted most in life (click here for more info on this truth).  When I was 38, I completed a multi-year research project where I learned how to experience guaranteed manfiesting results.  When I was 47, I  

  In 2005, the movie THE SECRET was released.  Suddenly, everyone was talking about manifesting.  Until that time, I'd never met anyone else who even knew what manifesting was.


After my parent's divorced, I found out what being poor was all about.  I really didn't like it, so at 10 years old, I decided I was going to become wealthy.  I started my first job a few months later.  I owned a business in high school. I made more money than anyone in my class. I was voted most likely to succeed.  I went to college.  The first months were fun, but then I experienced serious depression for the first time, and dropped out a short time later to start my first real world business.  The first few years were harsh, but I got my first brief taste of serious money at 21.  Initially, I was high on life.  I'd made it!  Then, it hit me, money alone couldn't make me happy.  A few months later, I lost my big client and the business collapsed around my ears.  This sent me into tail spin that almost ended when I attempted suicide at 24.  A few weeks after the attempt, I was considering finishing the job, when I realized that I wasn't just depressed, I was angry.  I'd read the success materials everyone talks about. I'd followed the instructions, but I'm come up really short from what those books had promised.  I decided the sole reason I'd stick around was to figure out what was missing so I could help others avoid what I'd been through.  I didn't figure out what was missing until I was 32 years old.

Imagine if you had everything you want.

Would you be happy?

What that tells you is that your thoughts are what are making you happy.  It's the thoughts, "I have everything I want" that make you happy.  It's NOT the stuff.  We know that because you've been happy with the things you've had in the past, that aren't these things you'll imagine yourself so happy with now.

We also know from this simple exercise that it's not the thoughts of having everything you want that are causing your suffering, it's the thoughts about NOT having what you want that are doing that.  If you stop thinking those thoughts, you're naturally happp....

Letting go of these thoughts of what you don't have is 50% of the game.  The other 50% is putting a simple series of habits in place that you know will get you what you want.  Happiness (better word for it contentment) is a habit...

Back in the late 90s, I was listening Jim Rohn speak.  Something he said that day, I'll never forget.  He pointed out that success is nothing more than a few simple decisions made over and over again until one day you wake up a success.  And that failure is the same, it's just making a few of the wrong decisions every day, until one day you wake up a failure."

I thought a lot about Jim's point and the truth of it was both undeniable and exciting!

So, my question became, "What exactly are the simple decisions that lead to success?"

I studied a lot of different people's answers to that question.

In my 20s, I personally recruited three different multi-millionaire mentors.  I did what they suggested to the best of my abilities.  However, I didn't obtain what they had, which left me pretty confused.

Then one day, I was in a seminar and the speaker said, "Imagine that I brought up on to this stage Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Oprah Winfrey, Richard Branson and Mark Cuban.  All of them are famous billionaires.  And I had each of them explain how they became billionaires and their advice for others who want to become billionaires too.  Whose advice would you follow?  Would you follow Bill's advice which would be about founding a cutting edge tech company?  Or would you follow Oprah's advice about the importance of cultivating a massive audience?  Or would you follow Richard's advice about creating lots of companies that deliver massive value?  All of the advice is different, but it's all solid sound advice.  The correct answer is you'd want to follow the advice of the person who has the same strengths as you do.  Because if you follow the advice of someone who doesn't share your strengths, you can do exactly what they tell you, but you won't get the same kind of results as they got.

Suddenly, I understood exactly what had happened with my mentors.  It wasn't that they held back their secrets, or that I hadn't tried hard enough, it was that we didn't have the same strengths.  No wonder when I tried to do the methods they suggested I didn't get the same results!  It now made so much sense!
